Booked your Airbnb - What's next?

Whether it's a short getaway or a round-the-world trip, the feeling of excitement rushes in the moment you booked. Although a vast majority of bookings go smoothly, you need to know what to do when it doesn't. Here are few Important Things to do right after your booked your place.

Don't be shy to contact your host and tell them the purpose of your visit. If it is for work, ask to make sure the surrounding is free of nuisance or away from construction site. If it is a family trip, check if the accommodation is children-friendly and/or whether pets are allowed.

Note: As of 20 August 2020, Airbnb has announced a global ban on parties and events of more than 16 people at any listings, regardless of host authorization.

Due to security purposes and for Covid-19 tracing during CMCO period, some hosts may require to verify identification prior to check-in. Make sure you provide the necessary information and/or deposit (if any) to ensure a seamless check-in process.

Of course the most critical information would be How to Check-in. If it requires you to obtain keys from the host in person, make sure arrangement is made in advance to avoid any inconvenience. If it is self check-in, do keep in touch with the host and request for check-in guide once the listing is ready. Same goes to other details such as the address, parking arrangement, spare beds etc.

To sum up, communication is key. To ensure a hassle-free vacation, stay in touch with the host from time to time. You can even ask for local travel tips or any other information you need!
