Covid-19 - What & How?

2020 marks a hectic year for humankind to fight against the imposter - Coronavirus. It's been almost a year now but what do we know so far?

Covid-19 is a type of respiratory illness, caused by Coronavirus. It affects different people in different ways - some show symptoms & some do not; some suffers & some can still jump here jump there; some die & some survive. In short, we think we know what it is but actually WE DON'T KNOW!


The virus can be transmitted through droplets e.g. coughs, sneezes, or exhales. These droplets will then fall on surfaces, like the floor, the sofa, the table and stay there for up to 7 days! Are you kidding me?!


What can we do about it?


1. DO NOT SIMPLY TOUCH HERE TOUCH THERE


Since viruses can remain on surfaces for days, wherever you go and whatever you touched, remember to sanitize your hands from time to time . Also, avoid touching your face, especially your nose and mouth. If you really really beh tahan want to touch, wash your hands with soap before doing so.


Beware of objects like: door handles, clothing, furniture, lift buttons etc.



2. WEAR MASK


When going out, wear a mask and WEAR IT PROPERLY.

- Make sure the mask covers your mouth and nose. - Choose masks with two or more layers.

- Do not use fabric that is hard to breathe.

- Wash regularly (reusable masks).


Note: DO NOT WEAR MASK when you're exercising. Although gyms are allowed to open according to Ministry of Health Malaysia, to avoid unnecessary contact with others, you can choose to stay home and do some yoga, tabata or other home exercises.



3. EAT HEALTHY


During CMCO, we are asked to stay at home and not to go out unless it is necessary. For those who have to cook are running out of ideas on what to cook. But PLEASE, please try not to simply invent weird recipes and don't hari-hari order KFC or McD ayam goreng. Gemuk tahu?

Instead, eat plenty of fruits and vegetable everyday to boost your immune system. If you don't want to buy those expensive products or supplements, avoiding unhealthy food together with some simple exercises are more than enough!
